Granite State Solar Voted Best Solar Company in the Concord Insider’s 2026 Cappies

We got some good news this summer, and we wanted to take a minute to actually sit with it instead of just posting a badge and moving on.

The Concord Insider announced the results of its 2026 Cappies awards, a reader-voted “best of” list covering everything from butcher shops to law firms across the greater Concord area, and Granite State Solar was voted the top solar company in the Solar category. Sundial Solar and Revision Energy rounded out the top three, and we mean it when we say that’s good company to keep. New Hampshire’s solar industry is small enough that we know most of the people doing this work, and it’s a group that generally cares about doing it right.

This isn’t a statewide title and we’re not going to pretend it is. It’s a Concord-area readers’ poll, and that’s exactly what makes it worth something to us. These are neighbors voting for a company they, or someone they know, actually hired. That kind of recognition comes from a real install on a real roof, not a marketing budget.

Why this one matters to us

We’ve been installing solar panels in New Hampshire since 2008, and we’ve picked up a few accolades along the way, including NH Business Review’s Best of Business award for solar energy and multiple years on the Best of the 603 list. Every one of those has felt good. But the Cappies land a little differently because of who’s doing the voting. This is the Concord community, the town where our shop actually sits, telling us they noticed the work.

That matters more than it might sound like on paper. A lot of what goes into being a good New Hampshire solar panel installer never shows up in a sales pitch. It’s showing up on time for a site visit. It’s an in-house crew instead of a subcontractor you’ve never met. It’s a straight answer when a roof isn’t a good candidate for solar, even if that costs us a sale. Awards like this tell us that stuff is landing with the people we’re doing it for.

A nod to the rest of the list

Scrolling through the full Cappies results is a nice reminder of how many good small businesses are working in this area. Congratulations to Live Free Heating, Cooling, Electric & Plumbing, R.S. Audley, Jasmor Roofing & Contracting, and Tasker Landscaping, along with every other business that took a top spot this year. Running a service business in New Hampshire is not easy, and a community that takes the time to vote for the ones doing good work is a community worth being part of.

What “best solar company” actually needs to mean

We’d rather earn this title every year than just frame it once. For us, being a solar panel installer New Hampshire homeowners and businesses can trust comes down to a few things we won’t cut corners on:

  • An in-house crew. The people on your roof are our own employees or our experienced local partners.
  • A real site visit before a real number. We size every system off your actual electrical service, your roof, and your last twelve months of bills, not a satellite photo.
  • No pressure, ever. We’d rather you get two other quotes and compare them to ours than sign something you’re not sure about.
  • Warranties that mean something. Every install carries a 12-year workmanship guarantee on top of the manufacturer’s panel and inverter warranties.

If you’ve been thinking about solar for your home or your business and wanted a sign that you’re looking in the right place, this is a decent one. And if you want to hear it from people who already made the call, our customer testimonials are worth a read, and so is our take on why working with a local installer is worth the extra thought compared to a national chain.

Awards are nice. What we actually care about is whether your roof makes sense for solar and whether the number we give you is one you can trust. That starts with a free, no obligation site visit, the same process that’s been getting us voted “best of” around here for years now.

Thank you to everyone in Concord and around New Hampshire who voted for us. We don’t take it lightly.
